Full of black and shining thoughts
Bare-backed, broad, and stony-souled
Rich and clanking, darkness cold
Mountain climbing, hiding, finding
And a big red wheel
Turning, ever grinding.
Wrap your coat so tight around you
Hide it in your jewellery box
Lay it safely down before you
Treasured, cared for, every day
(And the other, dull and grey)
But where's it gone?
Just this necklace!
And a word of black, which fades.
The TowerIn a high tower On the edge of the world She sleeps and dreams and waits For a change in season. Darkness draws its heavy curtainThe Tower
Across a worn out sky Sequin stars wink behind the fabric
In abracadabric unison.
She slumbers soundlessly and waits Through dust and dormant memory While across the sky, a star Is creating a new world Look! Don’t you see? Birds are waking from in the trees Flying further, highwards and whirling While the tiniest sea star sleeps.

In her tired and waiting world They d
